William Ben Hogan (August 13, 1912 – July 25, 1997) was an American golfer and is generally considered one of the greatest players of all time.

He turned pro in January 1930 just six months shy of his 18th birthday.

His early years as a pro were difficult and he went broke more than once.

During his career he also had 64 PGA Tour wins.

He started his Golf Club Company in 1953, the same year he won the Masters, the US Open and the Open Championship.

He sold his company to Irwin Jacobs for $15 million in 1984.
