The AT&T is played across Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Monterey Peninsula Country Club. Over the first three days all players play each course once. After the 54 hole cut the top 60 and ties play the final round at Pebble Beach.
- The origins of the tournament go all the way back to 1937 when Bing Crosby hosted and Sam Snead won over 18 holes. They called it the "Crosby Clambake".
- Pebble Beach has been the one constant in courses since 1947. Spyglass Hill has been included every year since 1967 except for 1977.
- Brandt Snedeker holds the tournament record shooting 22 under in 2015.
- There has been one player in the tournament’s history that has won both as an amateur and as a professional! Gene Littler won as a 23 yr old amateur in 1954 before turning professional. He won it again – this time as a pro – in 1975.
- The tournament has been a fundraising effort since its inception. The Monterey Peninsula Foundation manages the event and last year donated $13.2M to non profits in the local area. Clint Eastwood is their Chairman.

Why did Rory McIlroy lose some of his PIP money?
McIlroy withdrew from the 2023 RBC Heritage. He had already missed one designated tournament in 2023 and so had to forfeit $3 million.
In response to LIV, the new PGA Tour structure includes designated tournaments where nominated 'top' players have to compete. Each player is allowed to miss one designated tournament each year but will be fined if they miss a second.
McIlroy, along with others, was very involved in the discussions around these tournaments and other changes and to see him miss two designated tournaments so early on will surprise many people.
