Why do golfers take their glove off to putt?

Most golfers believe they have better feel for the putter and better touch with bare hands rather than with a glove in between flesh and grip.

More about why golfers take their glove off to putt

Putting on golf greens is  more about touch and feel and less about strength and/or speed. A 'light' grip on the putter is generally seen as preferable and, for most golfers, a light touch and sensitive feel is best found without any material between their hand and the putter grip. For this reason most golfers remove their glove.
