Xander Schauffele was born on the 25th of October 1993 in San Diego, California.

Hiw Mother, Ping-Yi Chen, is from Chinese Taipei, and his father, Stefan, is half-French and half-German.

Schauffele won the individual California High School championship but was not heavily recruited for college. He played his freshman year at Long Beach St., before transferring to San Diego St.

Xander is part of golf's high school Class of 2011 that includes, among others, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas and Daniel Berger.

As an amateur he won the 2011 California State High School Championship, 2012 OGIO UC Santa Barbara Invite, 2014 Lamkin Grips SD Classic, 2014 California State Amateur Championship and 2015 Barona Collegiate Cup.

Xander won 3 times in college and when he turned professional in 2015 was ranked in the top 10 in the world amateur rankings (WAR).

He started his golf career on the Web.com tour, before making his PGA tour debut in 2017. Schauffele has been a consistent pro ever since.
