With recent changes to equipment and swing structures the iconic 13th hole at Augusta National is no longer played the way the original designers intended.
With professional golfers regularly hitting 8 and 9 irons into the green for their second shot Augusta National are lengthening the hole with the intention of it playing, mostly, as a 3-shotter.
This is the second time the hole has been lengthened. In the original design in 1934 it was 480 yards long before being lengthened to 510 yards in 2022.
