Matthew Wolff played high school golf at Westlake HS and ended up playing college golf at Oklahoma St., after decommitting from USC. He was the runner up in the 2017 US Junior Championship.
As an amateur he won the 2018 The Carmel Cup, 2018 OFCC Fighting Illini Invite, 2018 Royal Oaks Intercollegiate, 2019 The Amer Ari Invitational, 2019 Valspar Collegiate and 2019 NCAA Division I individual championship.
While playing for the Cowboys of OK St., Wolff won a team and an individual NCAA championship.
Matthew is best known for his unorthodox swing that includes a hip twist to start the swing and routes the club far to the outside before dropping it in the slot. Wolff has tremendous power and is one of the longer hitters on the PGA tour.
Matthew Wolff won the PGA Tour event, the 2019 3M Open, with at total score of 263 (-21). Runners up were Bryson DeChambeau and Collin Morikawa.
He came 2nd a the 2020 US Open at Winged Foot West Course. Bryson DeChambeau won the tournament.
He joined LIV Golf in 2022.
