Isao Aoki was born on 31 August 1942 in Abiko, Chiba, Japan. His father was a farmer.
His nickname is “Tower” after the Toyko Tower because of his height (he’s six-feet tall).
His passion for golf started while caddying at the Abiko Golf Club as a schoolboy. Isao turned professional in 1964.
He won 80 times around the world on six different tours and in 2004 became the first Japanese male golfer to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
