The Adam Sandler golf movie, Happy Gilmore, was the number 2 film in US Box Office takings the weekend it opened with $8.5M in revenue. A great favorite and fun film to watch it grossed $41.2M in global takings having been made for $12M. A nice profit for a simple golf movie.
The cast included Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, Carl Weathers as Chubbs, and also Lee Trevino and Mark Lye playing themselves.
As well as this golf movie Adam Sandler has also starred in sports related movies The Waterboy and The Longest Yard.
