Collin Morikawa was born on the 6th of February 1997 in Los Angeles, California.

After finishing High School, Morikawa attend the University of California Berkley, where he won five tournaments, including a PAC-12 championship.

During his amateur career he won several large events including the Western Junior, the Sunnehanna Amateur and the Northeast Amateur. In 2018 he spent several weeks as the number one ranked amateur in the world.

As an amateur he won the 2013 Western Junior, 2015 Trans-Mississippi Amateur, 2016 Silicon Valley Amateur, 2016 Sunnehanna Amateur, 2017 ASU Thunderbird Invitational, 2017 Northeast Amateur, 2018 Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, 2018 Querencia Cabo Collegiate, 2018 Annual Western Intercollegiate, 2019 The Farms Invitational and 2019 Pac-12 Championship.

Collin Morikawa turned professional in 2019 and quickly earned his PGA tour status by playing well during sponsor exemptions.
