Scotty Cameron was born in Glendale, California and grew up in Huntington Beach.
Inspired by his father, who had a handicap of 2, Scotty started creating putters in the family garage in the 1960s.
In 1991 he designed putters for selected equipment manufacturers including Maxfli, Cleveland and Mizuno.
In 1992 he started his own company Cameron Golf International. For the next year or so he travelled to PGA Tour events and tried to convince players to use his putters.
His big break came when Bernhard Langer won the 1993 Masters with a Scotty Cameron putter.
Tiger Woods used a Scotty Cameron Putter for every one of his Major victories.
Other players who use his putters include Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.
Scotty is now, arguably, one of the biggest names in putter design and manufacturing.
