Seve Ballestesteros was born April 9 1957 in Spain. He died aged 54 in 2011 from Brain Cancer.
Ballesteros turned professional aged 16. At 19 he finished in second place in 1976 Open Championship.
His 1980 Masters win at age 23 was, at that time, a record for the youngest player to win. This was broken in 1997 by Tiger Woods at 21 years old.
Ballesteros was a key player and Captain for the European team in the Ryder Cup during the 80’s and 90’s and played a key role in the re-emergence of European Golf.
