Tom Watson was born on the 4th of September 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri.

As well as winning five British Opens Tom Watson won the Masters twice and the US Open once.

His eight wins came over the relatively short span of nine years with his first win the '75 British Open and his last of eight wins being the 1983 British Open.

Tom missed out on a career Grand Slam having never won the US PGA Championship. His best result was second in 1978.
