Will Zalatoris underwent a microdiscectomy in April 2023 and will miss the remainder of the 2023 season.
Zalatoris has been playing - and living - in pain for sometime and decided to undergo the operation to fix the problem.
A microdiscectomy is used to treat some spinal conditions like herniated discs. The process removes a portion of the herniated disc or bone spur that may be pressing on a nerve root in the spine. Full recovery typically takes up to 6 months but, all being well, Zalatoris can be optimistic about getting back to his best.
