The Mount Juliet course is classic Jack Nicklaus design with a mix of his ambitious and his mischievous approach to course design.

There are five lakes in play on six of the holes and more than 80 bunkers strategically placed through the course. The third hole is a great example with a 180 yard water carry over a beautiful lake from the back pegs. of carry over a shimmering lake.

The 11th, 13th and 14th holes are beautiful to look at but the greens are heavily guarded by bunkers and water. And just when you think the worst is behind you you reach the 16th with it's walled green almost entirely surrounded by a bunker.

• World Golf Championship in 2002 and 2004
• Irish Seniors Open in 1999
• Irish Open Golf Championship in 1993, 1994 and 1995
