Patrick Cantlay did not waste time making his mark on the college golf scene. As a freshman he won 4 tournaments and was named the Haskins Award winner for being the best college player. He was the PAC-10 player of the year. You could call his college career short and sweet – he turned professional following his sophomore year. Cantlay was ranked as the #1 amateur in the world at the time.
