Martin Kaymer was born on 28 December 1983 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
He turned pro in 2005 as a member of the European Tour.
The 2010 USPGA Championship was played at the Straits Course of the Whistling Straits complex in Haven, Wisconsin. Kaymer won his first major championship in a three hole playoff defeating Bubba Watson.
In 2014 Kaymer won the US Open Championship, played at the No. 2 Course of the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina, eight strokes ahead of runners-up Erik Compton and Rickie Fowler.
Martin Kaymer was also the number one ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Rankings for eight weeks in 2011.
