More about the East Lake Golf Club

The East Lake Golf Club is a private golf club and part of the former Atlanta Athletic Club (AAC) established in 1898.

The golf course, established in 1904, is the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta.

In 1913 golf course architect Donald Ross redesigned the course at East Lake.

In 1994, Rees Jones, son of the famous golf course architect Robert Trent Jones redesigned the original golf course at East Lake to its current layout.

East Lake Golf Club has been the permanent home of the TOUR Championship since 2005. The tournament was first played at East Lake in 1998 and has been held at East Lake 20 times since then.

The TOUR Championship is the culminating event of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedEx Cup, with only the top 30 players on the points list qualifying each year.
