In July 2020, the PGA of America announced the postponement of the 2020 Ryder Cup to September 24 to 26, 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The  2021 Matches were the 43rd edition of the Ryder Cup.

The US team won the Ryder Cup 19 points to 9, the largest winning margin in the history of the Ryder Cup.

Team Europe was the reigning cup holder after its 17½–10½ victory over Team USA in 2018 at Le Golf National in Paris, France.

Steve Stricker was the captain of the US Team and Padraig Harrington lead the European Team.
