The 2021 Olympic golf competitions were held 29 July - 8 August at Kasumigaseki Country Club in Japan.

Major winners Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry will represent Ireland at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Both Lowry and McIlroy pulled out of the 2016 Olympics in Rio, citing concerns over the Zika virus.

Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow also featured in the inaugural women’s golf tournament at the Rio Olympics five years ago.

Maguire is currently ranked 60th in the world and 26th in the Olympic rankings. Meadow is 38th in the Olympic ranking and 122nd on the world list.
