Since the first British Open Championship was first played on Prestwick golf club in 1860 the rota has included a total of 14 courses throughout Great Britain. Four of those courses are no longer on the rota.

The Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland (scheduled for2022)
Royal Liverpool in Scotland (scheduled for 2023)
Royal Troon in Scotland (scheduled for 2024)
Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland (last used 2019)
Carnoustie in Scotland (last used 2018)
Royal Birkdale in England (last used 2017)
Royal Troon in Scotland (last used 2016)
Muirfield in Scotland (last used 2013)
