The 2021 Olympic golf competitions were held 29 July - 8 August at Kasumigaseki Country Club in Japan.

Louis Oosthuizen, who was ranked number 12 in the world at the time, declined to go.

Garrick Higgo currently plays on the PGA Tour, European Tour and the Sunshine Tour. Prior to the 2021 Olympics he has won three times on the European Tour.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout is a three-time winner on the European Tour.

Ashleigh Buhai was the youngest ever player to win the ladies’ South African Amateur Stroke Play and Match Play double. She was also the first player in 101 years to win the Ladies South African Open title three times.

Lee-Anne Pace had a successful amateur collegiate career in the United States and prior to the 2021 Olympics held 22 professional titles.
